SCROLL

This special piece of Raleigh history recently finished it’s most recent restoration to add to the vibrancy of downtown Raleigh as a boutique hotel and event space. The house has nine large ensuite guest rooms that can sleep up to 20 guests. In total, the house is ~10,000 square feet with 15-foot ceilings, original hardwoods, large pocket doors, 10 fireplaces, and grand common spaces including a library and parlor. Meticulously and thoughtfully designed, we have highlighted the authenticity of the original architecture while incorporating modern and vintage touches. Every item was handpicked, from artwork, fixtures, vintage rugs, and custom furniture. Scroll to take a look.

The Foyer

Bathed in light through the day, the towering foyer is one of the most open spaces in the house. Upheld by four Italianate pillars, the ceiling opens up and into the central rotunda on the second story, where you’ll see one of the first painted glass skylights in Raleigh, glowing bright overhead. From here, the house fans out in several directions, serving as the central nexus for exploration of the rest of the house.

The Library

Off to the left of the foyer, you’ll enter the library. The library and its shelves are full of curiosities and oddities, both historic and modern, for your exploration. Pull a book from the shelf and take a seat on the rounded settee which anchors the center of the room, or sit and absorb some of the artwork from local artists decorating the historic mantle.

The Parlor

Right off to the right of the foyer, you’ll find the parlor. The parlor features our lovely bar made by Raleigh architects and artisans at Tactile Shop, and space to hangout. While you’re here, take a moment to admire the unique notched shape of the original windows - a unique and stunning feature that speaks to the craftsmanship of the original builders.

The Dining Room

Through the library you’ll find the dining room, where you have the option of spending your mornings for breakfast, or where you can have host your next private dinner. The open dining room offers space to breath and start your mornings off the right way. Oh and if you have a sharp eye, you may see an original Salvador Dali piece while pouring your morning coffee!
